AN OUTSTANDING COVER TO VERA CRUZ, MEXICO BEARING A STRIP OF 4 OF THE 1857 10¢ TYPE I ISSUE.
This cover was interesting described in M. Neinken's "The United States Ten-Cent Stamps 1855-59" (on page 40) in part…"It is most exceptional that the two covers in the Rust collection with perforated stamps and the one in the Neinken collection have strips of four of the Ten Cent stamps, all exactly the same plate positions, being positions 97 to 94L1, all Type I." From the famous Hargous correspondence with a similar franking which is the largest known multiple of the 1857 10¢ Type I on cover.

AN OUTSTANDING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1860 24¢ WASHINGTON ISSUE.
The 1857 perforated issue are the most difficult to obtain in gem quality with the most difficult denomination being the 24¢ value. The margins are narrow, with the design almost always touched (if not in) at top or bottom.
