1870, 10¢ brown, H. grill, N.B.N.C. printing, o.g., very lightly hinged, nice centering, intense rich color, natural fiber inclusion (visible on reverse only), F.-V.F., ex-Dr. Grassi; with 1976, 2006 P.F. & 1996, 2006 P.S.E. certificates, last Graded (F 70).

A LOVELY AND RARE MINT EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 10¢ H. GRILL BANK NOTE WITH ONLY ONE EXAMPLE GRADED HIGHER.

The numeric graded does not do this stamp justice, the last time this stamp was sold at auction, it was described as, "Extremely Fine Example of the 10¢ 1870 National Grilled Issue with Original Gum and Unusually Choice Centering." (Siegel Sale #829, Lot 368). It is interesting to note that only two original gum examples have been graded by the P.S.E., this stamp and one other (85 J).

1870, 90¢ carmine, without grill, N.B.N.C. printing, face free cork cancels, exceptional centering amid uncommonly wide and well balanced margins, strong bright color, an Extremely Fine to Superb jumbo, one of three examples to grade as such with only one example grading higher (a 98), ex-Floyd & Hall; with 1992 P.F. and 2015 P.S.E. certificates, the latter Graded (XF-Sup 95J; SMQ $4,000).

1879, 15¢ red orange, A.B.N.C. printing, Bottom Margin Plate Block of 12 with Imprint & Plate Number "31", immaculate Post Office fresh original gum which is never hinged expect for tiny trace of very light hinging in selvedge of one stamp, exceptionally well centered with perforations completely intact, brilliant rich color that is almost unheard of on this soft porous paper issue, wonderfully bright and fresh, an Extremely Fine gem; with 2002 P.S.E. & 2016 P.F. certificates.
