France back-of-the-book collection, 1893-1959. Mint on album pages, few hundred stamps with hardly any duplication, 'FM' issues with 'affrachis' very strong including the scarce 55c on 60c sower (expertized), dues from 1859 onwards including mint 2fr of 1927 and other high values, parcel post from 1901 onwards, 1909 Amiens 10c strike stamp, propaganda issues for the Eastern Front and 'French Volunteers' during the Occupation of WWII, some booklets, etc.

France airmail covers, 1924-46. 3 covers and postcard, two with complete set of 6 triangulars, for the 9th of June 1924 Vincennes Aviation Exhibition, accompanied French definitive Sower types making the 25cts rate - although not listed in Scott, these triangulars are scarce on cover, the top value of the 'orphans of the war', the 5fr + 1fr blue on registered cover with 1931 Lyon etiquette label and on the back a highly unusual miniature sheet with four vignettes, postcard celebrating the Wilbur Wright flight commemoration, attractive group.

France airmail collection, 1927-59. Both mint and used collections including a few covers, mint with #C1-2 (cat $300), #C5-7 and a further block of 4 #C5, #C8-14 (cat $770), the allegories complete with a n.h. 1000fr, 1957/59 to 1000fr, used with #C1-2 (cat $250), #C5-7, 50fr emerald cds #C14 with security company 'perf-in', #C15, allegory issues, 50fr 'Bastie' on cover, 1950 sets to the 1000fr, etc.

France collection, 1932-50. Parallel mint and used in album, occasional extras such as blocks of 4 and postal history, highlights in what is basically a complete collection (mint and used) is #264-83 complete, Cartiers, Normandys, Breton, 10fr green 1936 aeroplane, Museums, 50fr Ader, 20fr overprint, se-tenants strips, virtually all the definitive series complete, Citex of 1949, better semi postals mint and used complete with much never hinged as well as used, some non-Scott listed material inc Mazelin complete series of 12 color trials, attractive collection, please inspect.

France collection, 1954-96. 3 volume collection with high face value content, parallel mint and used, virtually every permutation including booklet panes, miniature sheets, even proofs, some of the better earlier issues inc early semi postals such as the 'Hoche' complete mint, early series of 1950's inc the Napoleon mint and used complete, Thiers complete mint and used, Lyautey & Valery series, Chardonnet, Renoirs, etc, all complete mint and used, please inspect.

Lot 3025 /o   

France & Colonies, 1849-1950. A lovely collection housed in five Scott albums full of many better singles and sets, the majority of the collection is mint, however some useful used included, strength is in the early Monaco and the entire collection of France which lacks only a handful of items, unfortunately a good percentage of the France collection has minor tape stains due to mounts, which on close inspection is not quite as severe as it appears at first glance, still a very nice collection worth careful inspection.
Estimate    $4,000 - 6,000.

France & Colonies cover stock. 52 cover and cards in slipcases priced for retail, mixed range of usages with most retailing $10-50 range with better $100+ items, including a nice range of later 1930's colonies with many colorful mixed frankings, France similar including early 1930 registered foreign usages, better stampless, etc., worth inspection.
