1851, 1¢ blue, type IIIa. Position 54R4, large margins to just in at lower right, tied by "Albany, N.Y., Paid" circular handstamp on fresh July 29, 1857 Astronomical Journal printed circular by famous astronomer Dr. C.H. Peter, stamp with very minor facial abrasion at upper right and trivial minute gum stain, otherwise Very Fine; with 2004 A.P.S. certificate.
Scott No. 8A    Estimate $300 - 400.

This circular and the matching circular in the previous lot were most certainly sent at the same time. Although the addressees are different, the postmarks positions are virtually identical.
