Emerson & Co., Manufacturers of Lumber at Penobscot Saw-Mill, Grass Valley, Nevada County. Ornate border corner card with ¼ South of Primrose Valley House address, on buff cover to North Parvnal, Vt., franked with 1852, 3¢ dull red left margin horizontal pair (ample margins to just into frameline at top), tied by neat fancy grid cancel with matching "Grass Valley, Cal., Mar 13" cds at top, 1855 receiving docket, Extremely Fine.

From Noisy Carrier's. Mail. 77 Long Wharf S.F. Cal. Bold complete strike of blue forwarder's handstamp on cover to Bristol, N.H., franked with 1851 3¢ dull red, horizontal pair tied by "San Francisco, Cal., Jun 16" cds, pair touched at left, minor cover edge wear at right, Very Fine and choice, a perfect strike of this rare marking.

Greenwood, Cal. Full clear strike of fancy bluish arched postmark (Williams ELD-1700) with manuscript "April 28" date, tying 1852, 3¢ dull red bottom margin single (nick at left) on fresh cover to San Francisco, Cal., Extremely Fine, one of the finest examples of this rare California town postmark.

J. Bamber & Co's Contra Costa Express. Bold oval handstamp tying 1851 3¢ dull red (large margins) on 1860 cover to the Warm Springs Hotel in Alameda County from San Francisco with original enclosure, cover with large repair just affecting address & marking, Fine, a rare demonetized usage.

Marysville, Cal., Paid By Stamps. Clear blue cds on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire additional franked with 1852, 3¢ dull red pair and single tied by matching blue waffle grid to Massachusetts, this grid was created to cancel multiple stamps at one time, entire with red embossed seal of Nesbitt on reverse, Extremely Fine, an exceptional example of this scarce town marking which is rarely found well struck.

Balloon type postmark tying 1852, 3¢ dull red, strip of 3 (Pos. 53-55R3) in combination with 1851 1¢ blue type IV (large even margins) on orange cover to Massachusetts, strip with large margins to touched at bottom, shows part of next stamps at top, trivial corner crease at bottom right, Extremely Fine, a very attractive California usage.

Miner's illustrated cover addressed to Sheffield, England, franked with 1852, 3¢ dull red horiz pair tied by "San Francisco, Cal., Mar 30" cds, matching straight line "Paid" handstamp and "23" in pencil fee paid in cash fully prepaying the 29¢ west coast rate, red "19" credit handstamp, light age spotting, Very Fine and attractive, a very rare usage of this California miner's envelope to a foreign destination, ex-Jessup.

Two clear full strikes of town postmark, one centrally struck on 1852, 3¢ dull red, bottom margin horizontal pair (ample to large margins) on fresh cover to Weymouth, Mass., second full strike at left, with original enclosure, Extremely Fine, a remarkably choice usage from this tiny Mining Town.
