Way 6. In circle, perfect strike in blue on 1851 3¢ intense orange brown (Pos. 92L2E, huge margins to just nicking frameline at top corners) on 1851 folded cover to Lynchburg, Va., Extremely Fine and choice, This marking was applied to mail traveling on the James River and Kanaawha Canal.

Way 6. Perfect strike of blue handstamp in circle of Lynchburg, Va. tying 1851 3¢ orange brown (Pos. 26L2E, invisible sealed tear in top right corner, four clear to large margins), on 1852 (Feb.) folded cover, Extremely Fine, This marking was applied to mail traveling on the James River and Kanaawha Canal.

Straight line handstamp on blue 1854 folded letter to New York franked with 1851 3¢ dull red (huge margins including right sheet margin & parts of 4 other stamps), tied by bold grid with matching & red "New Orleans" balloon type cds, cover datelined "At Mr. Mills Residence, Out of Town" & docketed "Galveston", Extremely Fine.

Due Way 1¢. Framed handstamp with grid in blue tying 1851 3¢ dull red on 1852 folded cover to Baltimore with matching "Mobile, Ala." cds at bottom left, adhesive just shaving frameline at right & trivial corner nick at top left, Very Fine, a rare marking particularly in this choice condition.

Due Way 1¢. Boxed handstamp with attached circular grid handstamp tying 1851 3¢ dull red, horiz. pair (slightly cut in) on 1851 double rate folded letter to New York with 2nd strike at right, folded letter from New Orleans with printed prices current & handwritten letter, Very Fine and rare, a lovely example of this marking which is normally found with weak or partial strikes.
