Mexico, Incoming Maritime Mail Collection, 1825-1909. Approximately 170 covers mounted on pages in three binders, including Spanish mails with section of 1850's stampless covers from Spain and Cuba including forwarder usages, nice range of stamp usages including 1873 Havana usage with 1p bisect, British mails including various early usages from 1825 on, including 1847 Havana Crown Circle, various Vera Cruz entry markings, etc., British postage usages including many attractive mixed frankings, rates, later registry, etc., strong section of French mail with early stampless from late 1820's on, various usages through Vera Cruz and Santa Anna, later stamped covers including 1863 G.B. usage via French mails (and vice versa), some attractive French mixed issue and franking combinations, other usages including usage from Belgium, United States mails including 1850's stampless usages and a nice array of stamped usages from 1850-60's on including a few mixed and multiple frankings including 1860's 24¢ 4-color mixed franking, later usage including 30¢ Banknote in triple rate cover, Vapor City of Alexandria cachet, other franked usages from Spain, G.B. and Roman States, 1857 Haiti cover to Mexico with the rare P.M.S.S. Co. Agency, Acapulco oval handstamp of the Pacific Mail Steam Ship Co. (only two covers recorded) and the "N.Y. Havana & Mexican Mail S.S. Line, Agency at Progreso" circular cachet on reverse of cover to Vera Cruz with is the only known strike on cover; condition a little mixed with overall condition well above the norm, a lovely exhibition collection offered intact.

Lot 498    

Peru, 1863, 1p brown, diagonal bisect. Upper left half of stamp tied on 1866 folded letter sheet by "Lima, May 26, 66" cds, Extremely Fine, a wonderfully choice bisect usage.

Peru, 1866-67, 20c brown, diagonal bisect. Lower left portion of stamp tied by greenish blue "Zacna, Peru" cds on fresh folded letter sheet to Cochabamba, Very Fine.

Ryukyus, 1952, 100y on 2y rose violet. 8/8 - 9/9 point "Kai Tei", horizontal se-tenant pair, o.g., never hinged, well centered, bright and fresh, Very Fine, a choice and rare surcharge pair; with 2006 P.F. certificate.

Lot 501    

Philippines, 1898-99, 8c Registration issue. In combination with 1898-99, 2c red on cover on clean 1898 cover to Malolos, neatly tied by Correos, "Dagupan, 31 Dic, 98" cds, registration stamp with some slight gum soak on perfs, Very Fine, a wonderful Revolutionary Goverment issue rarity, a unique usage of the 8c Registration issue in combination with the 2c postage and telegraph issue.

Lot 502 ()   

Uruguay, 1866, 10c on 8c burnt green. Vertical tête-bêche block of 4, without gum, large margins, bright fresh color, minor wrinkling and light horiz creases between stamps and in bottom margin (much less than usual), otherwise Extremely Fine, a rare block.
