Franked with pair 10pf (right stamp small defect) sent to New York, cover advertised with 1¢ Postage Due tied by oval cancel to pay the advertising fee, tied on reverse United States letter carrier label with explanation for non delivery, cover ultimately returned to sender in Germany, cover opened for display & small tear at left, F.-V.F.

A nice group of 113 stampless covers from the late 18th Century to about the mid 19th Century, places of origin are mostly from England, France, & Germany, however other origins include Brazil, Holland, British Post Office in Egypt, Panama, Cuba, Mexico, etc., all with a wide variety of Foreign & US markings, mixed condition, F.-V.F., worthy of careful inspection.
