Red cds (type V) on 1835 folded cover to Washington, D.C., manuscript "25" rate obliterated by four strikes of red "Free" handstamp in arc (type b, 2 known) as this is addressed to "General Roger Jones, Adjutant General" with manuscript endorsement "On Public Service", letter datelined "Apalachicola Arsenal, Chattahoochee, Flo." from Soldier requesting that the arsenal be made a double ration post, two light vert. file folds, sealed cover tear at right, otherwise Very Fine.
