Adams & Co's Express/Humboldt Bay. Bold double-lined blue oval handstamp with matching boxed "Paid" at left on cover to Moquelumne Hill, franked with precancelled 1851 3¢ dull red with blue double circle Adam's & Co/San Francisco transit datestamp; portion of cover cut out and repaired with stamp placed over (which may not originate), Very Fine appearance, still a rare usage.

Adams & Co. Express/Mormon Island. Double-lined black Express handstamp on cover originating from Boston with "Boston 10cts" cds to San Francisco, forwarded to Mormon Island with manuscript "Fd 5" forwarding charge totaled to "15", the Adams handstamp was then applied for forwarding to "Mur(derers) Bar" with manuscript "$1.25" for express charge, Very Fine, very scarce usage.

Balloon type handstamp on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to San Francisco with fancy company frank showing steamboat, additional strike of handstamp on reverse with manuscript "50¢" in pencil (possibly indicating the Express fee), some minor toned spots, F.-V.F., a very rare example of this type Alta marking.
