Hawaii, Eleele, Kauai, Sep 27, 1899. Full bold strike of purple cds with unusual one-line date at center (MH 253.01) on 1894, 1¢ red postal card to Koloa, Extremely Fine and choice, a superb strike of this short-lived postmark, with usages recorded between October 1899 and June 1900 making this the earliest known.

Hawaii, G. B. Post & Co., San Francisco, Forwarded by. Full strike of octagonal framed handstamp and straight line "Per Frances Palmer" ship handstamp (Gregory AUXSH-SF [PER FRANCES PALMER], Rarity 1RRRR) on cover to Henry S. Stark, captain of the R. F. Hoxie in Honolulu, backstamped with blue oval "H. K. Cummings & Co., Commission Merchants, San Francisco" handstamp, with original enclosure datelined "San Francisco, Nov. 14, 1855" regarding business and shipping; cover with sealed tear not affecting markings and flap tears through sender's oval, F.-V.F., the only recorded strike of the "Per Frances Palmer" ship handstamp without quotation marks, illustrated in Coburn's Letters of Gold, ex Pietsch.

Exceptional strike of cds (MH 282.016) on 1882, 1¢ red postal card to the Postmaster General in Honolulu, interesting message on reverse…Please send to Waipio Hawaii Office two sheets 2¢ stamp & oblige. and signed by Waipio Postmaster W.H. Holmes, Extremely Fine, the earliest recorded strike of this Honokaa postmark.

Red cds (MH 236.11) on 1855 cover to Salem Oregon, franked with U.S. 1852, 3¢ dull red, horizontal pair tied by manuscript pencil cancel, straight line "Ship" and "7" rate handstamps with rate lightly crossed out in pencil; cover opened at bottom with slight soiling and some toning at left, Fine, carried to San Francisco on schooner E.L. Frost or steamship City of Norfolk overpaying the 5¢ rate (3¢ rate + 2¢ ship fee).

Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaiian Is., Feb. 26, 1851. Bold two line handstamp (MH 201, Scarcity 2) on cover to Cazenovia N.Y., red "San Francisco, Cal., Apr 1" cds and red crayon "42" rate (40¢ transcontinental rate plus 2¢ ship captain fee) cover with right sideflap is missing and edge tear which been hinged reinforced, a Very Fine strike, of the first handstamped postmark of Hawaii, ex Van Dyke.
Estimate    $3,000 - 4,000.

This cover was carried aboard the Louisa Baille, which departed Honolulu on February 26, 1851, arriving in San Francisco on March 25. It was then carried aboard the Tennessee from San Francisco to Panama on April 1, 1851.

Clear red cds (MH 236.05) on 1853 linen lined cover to Marlborough, Mass., "San Francisco, Cal., Sep 10" cds with matching "Paid" straight line handstamp, pencil "1oz" weight notation and "14" rate (6¢ rate x2 + 2¢ ship fee); few minor edge nicks, Very Fine, carried to San Francisco by the bark Zoe, ex Ostheimer, Advertiser.
