On 1861 3¢ red entire to Carson City, Nevada Territory with Wells, Fargo & Co. company frank (Haller type E), advertising on front from "Granite Flouring Mills" in Folsom with illustrations of Eagle, Flag & Ribbon and on reverse large illustrations of Building and full Train (inscribed "Howland" under building), trimmed at left and stained on face, Fine and rare, Very few Wells Fargo advertising covers are illustrated on both sides, this is one of the fanciest especially with a large early train.Estimate $200 - 300.

Fowler/Vallejo" with pencil "W & Co Nov 5" (Wells, Fargo & Co. receipt), light vertical fold, Very Fine and attractive, The standard way to reorder the "shaded advertising" envelopes was to take one in the format you wanted that had already been done before and mark, as this one, with how many you wanted, California Pacific Rail Road is rather scarce advertiser.Estimate $100 - 150.
