Wells, Fargo & Co's Express/Eureka, Nev./Sep. 16, 1893. Perfect strike of bold purple oval handstamp with matching purple Wells, Fargo & Co.-applied straight-line handstamp "Eureka, Nevada" (to facilitate return address) at left, on 2¢ Columbian entire with blue Wells, Fargo & Co. Columbian Pictorial Domestic Frank to San Francisco, magenta Wells Fargo San Francisco receiving handstamp dated "Oct 17 2(P)M", minor opening tear at top, Very Fine, a very rare Wells, Fargo & Co. marking.

Wells, Fargo & Co/Galena/Nov 4. Clear blue oval date stamp on 1870, 3¢ green franked entire to Reno, 1870 pencil docketing, Very Fine, a rare express date stamp from Galena.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express/Genoa. Excellent blue handstamp on 1860-61 3¢ Star-Die entire with company frank to San Francisco, endorsed at bottom left "with coin", Very Fine, a condition rarity, with a full clear strike of the Wells, Fargo & Co. Genoa handstamp, most existing examples being weak and barely legible.

Wells, Fargo & Co./Gold Hill N.T./Jan 23. Two strikes of blue oval date stamp tying 1861, 3¢ rose, two singles on 1860, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, black company frank at top (type E), adhesive residue on reverse and uprating indicating a possible part paste-up usage, Very Fine.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express/Hawthorne, Nev. Orange label on 3¢ green entire with company frank to San Francisco, label applied over illegible Wells, Fargo & Co. magenta handstamp, most probably that of Hawthorne, with manuscript "Val $10/Pd", slightly reduced at right & open on three sides, Very Fine and scarce.
Estimate    $100 - 150.

Wells, Fargo & Co. labels were invariably used on letters containing contents of monetary value or of fiscal import, and this example.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express/Hawthorne, Nev. Two strikes of purple oval handstamp, one on indicium of 2¢ green entire with company frank to San Francisco, postmarked "San Francisco, Sep. 1895" arrival postmarks, Very Fine and choice.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Wells Fargo officially ceased carrying mail in the United States in May of 1895, yet this cover was carried to San Francisco by Wells, Fargo & Co. some 4 months later and posted, receiving the San Francisco cds with killer on indicium.

Wells, Fargo & Co./Hunter's. Brown oval date stamp (type 11-9) on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to Sandusky, O., endorsed "Overland" with "Junction City, Kan." duplex postmark, 1867 docketing and black frank at top, Fine and rare.

Wells, Fargo & Co's Express/From Jacobsville N.T. Red printed label ("Jacobsville N.T." town designation on label is in manuscript) on complete paste-up originating in Gold Hill N.T. and sent to Jacobsville N.T. where it was then forwarded to San Francisco, addressed side has originating handstamp of "Wells, Fargo & Co/ Express/Gold Hill Utah" (Wells, Fargo & Co. handstamp had not yet been altered to Gold Hill N.T.), transit marking of "Wells, Fargo & Co./Jul 5/Clifton N.T.", and Wells, Fargo & Co. forwarding label of Jacobsville N.T., reverse side of paste-up is composed of Wells, Fargo & Co. franked 1861 3¢ pink entire with 1861 10¢ green and tied by "Wells, Fargo & Co./Gold Hill Utah" handstamp, cover was neatly opened at both left and right and is not reduced, small tear at top center of addressed side, some light wear & soiling, condition is Very Fine for this type of usage, a stunning item of great rarity.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.
