1855, 10¢ green, type III (position 81L1) large margins to touching at bottom right, red manuscript canceled and tied by "San Francisco, Cal., Jul 1" cds on 1856 cover to Point aux Trembles, Canada, underpaid and treated as totally unpaid with manuscript "Due 15" and "9" pence due, reverse receiving backstamp, Very Fine, a very scarce usage.

1855, 10¢ green, type III. In combination with 1851, 3¢ dull red, horizontal pair attempting to pay the 15¢ rate on double rate cover to Bedeque, Prince Edward Island, tied by "Sacramento, Cal., Oct 4, 1856" cds's, "20" handstamp & two manuscript "60" rates crossed out, oval "United States" exchange handstamp and manuscript "30" and "1/6" due; stamp creases, cover soiling and edge wear expertly restored, Fine appearance, an unusual rating and destination.

1855, 10¢ green, type III. Just shaving bottom of design otherwise large margins including sheet margin at left, tied by "St. Paul, M.T." cds on cover to Canada with red straight line "Paid" and matching red "United States/6d" exchange oval handstamp, Very Fine, the postmark appears to be Oct. 1857, which would indicate this was used during the Territoral period.

1855, 10¢ green, type IV. right pair (position 64-65L1, left recut at top and bottom) in horizontal strip of 5 with type III (positions 61-65L1), margins ample to just in at top right, in combination with 1855, 10¢ green type II, strip of 4 (slightly in at top) on large front to Washington, D.C., all tied by "San Francisco, Cal. Jan 5" cds's; ink erosion in address panel, Fine, a truly remarkable and extremely rare 10¢ combination.
