Confederacy, Confederate Fakes, Forgeries, Reprints & Cinderellas, nicely mounted and written-up collection starting with six post-civil war reprints Confederate patriotic envelopes, then including various reprints from the De La Rue altered plate, New York forgeries, the Springfield facsimiles in various forms including the complete set of 11 sheets of 25, six different fantasy issues, 11 forgeries of Postmasters' Provisionals (six by S. Allan Taylor) plus six bogus Provisionals by Taylor. A fascinating lot (no photo).

Confederacy, Balance of Stamps, 1861-1864, mounted collection balance comprising #1 (two used, one unused), 2 (2 used), 4 (6 including two mint and a used pair), 5 (one used, two unused), 6 (mint block, two used pairs and a cover), 7 (two mint blocks (one De La Rue paper), four used pairs (three D.L.R. paper), pen-canceled block of six (only one used multiple larger than six is known) and a cover with two singles); 8 (7 including a mint block, a mint double transfer & one used); 11 (4 mint & 5 used singles, three mint blocks, 2 mint pairs, a single on cover and a mint experimental perf 12½); 12 (6 mint & 3 used singles, an unused pair and a mint block); 13 (two unused singles, one with/double transfer in "20" plus mint pair & block of 4); and 14 (3 unused singles); condition is mixed with most of the better stamps with unobtrusive faults but F-VF appearing. Scott value is about $9,300. (no photo).

Confederacy, Collection, 1861-1864, approximately 100 stamps, mint & used, including #1 (x8), several #2, several #3 & 4's, *&o #5; many #6 & #7's, nice group of #8's including 4 mint & 3 used; mint #9; many #11 & #12's; #13 with 2 mint blocks of 4 with split imprint "Arch & Daly Richmond Va."; also several #14's; condition somewhat mixed but most are F-VF or better, several pairs, some blocks, etc., some nice cancels; also including a group of Upham facsimiles, with several multiples & a few singles, some duplicate sheets with faults, please inspect (no photo).
