Hawaii, 1850 Royal Patent signed by Kamehameha III, very early Patent (number 291) impressed in the middle with Hawaii's first Royal Stamp;.dated June 12, 1850, issued to Lorrin Andrews Jr. and signed by the King and Keonia Ana, the Kuhina Nui and Minister of Interior, with two wax seals of the Great Seal, slightly cracked, but intact, otherwise Very Fine.

Hawaii, The Friend, Honolulu, July 26, 1858 8-page newspaper, includes Marine Journal section with arrival and departures; unfolded, few minor tone spots, Very Fine and choice.

Hawaii, Return Registered Letter Receipt, mailed with "Kealakekua, Hawaii, Apr 13 1895" cds in purple (M-H 282.016) and received with "Honolulu Hawaii Apr 16 1895" cds in magenta, Very Fine and interesting receipt similar to U.S. style.

Hawaii, "Sold at the Office of the Polynesian, Hawaii", illustrated Full-Rigged Ship bill of lading dated Sept. 11, 1862 for $2,455 worth of specie sent on the Bark "Yankee" from Honolulu to San Francisco with charges of $12.89; Very Fine.

Lot 2094    

Hawaii, Wells, Fargo & Co., No. 1 Collection, Honolulu Feb 27, 1869, yellow collection envelope with illustrated train and cars, to William Seton Ogden in Oregon City, received at the Wells, Fargo office in Oregon City where advertised & answering fee noted "adv 50 + ans 50 / 100" at top right, envelope returned to Honolulu with notation "Ogden says he will not pay and that it is outlawed"; small internal cover hole, Very Fine, a very rare Wells, Fargo & Co. collection envelope usage from Honolulu.
Estimate    $1,500 - 2,000.

The first Wells Fargo office in Honolulu closed in August of 1869.
