Jayne & Son, 2¢ Black, Imperf, Watermarked USIR, large margins all around, strong bold color, faint vertical crease, otherwise Extremely Fine, a gorgeous large margin example of the rare Jayne & Son 2¢ Black Imperforate on Watermarked Paper, only 17 are recorded in the Aldrich census (of which 9 are reported to be faulty).

Jayne & Son, 4¢ Green, Imperf, Old Paper, intensely rich color, large to huge margins, usual few light creases and small internal tear, Extremely Fine appearance, without a doubt One of the Finest Examples of the Jayne & Son 4¢ Green Imperforate on Old Paper, A Great Match & Medicine Issue Rarity With Only 5 Examples Recorded in the Aldrich census (of which 4 are reported to be faulty).

Of the four examples of the Jayne & Son 4¢ green imperforate on old paper issue residing in the Joyce collection, two examples had hand trimmed margins which are much less desirable than full margin imperforate examples. One of those being the only sound example.

The Joyce collection included one example of this stamp, which realized $6,500 hammer. It is interesting to note that both the red and orange color varieties of the Jayne & Son 4¢ issues on old paper, offered here, have a green offset on reverse in the shade that is similar to the green used on all other Jayne & Son 4¢ issues.
