Mexico, 1884, 1p Hidalgo, Three Singles, in combination with Numerals 3c + 12c + 20c strip of three on linen lined registered parcel front to the Mexico consulate in Switzerland and forwarded Faenza, Italy, all tied by 1894 Mexico City cds's, official oval date stamp and Mexico & N.Y. etiquettes; usual flaws, F.-V.F.

Mexico, 1885, 12c Olive Brown, in combination with 1890, 1c yellow green, two singles + 6c vermilion on corner card cover to Konstanz, Germany, all tied by "Mexico, 12.Ago.91" cds's, purple Royal Dutch Consulate General cachet and straight line via Laredo & New York routing handstamps; some cover toning at right, F.-V.F.

Mexico, 1886, 1c-10p Numeral Issue, Special Deluxe Proof Set, complete set of 15 proofs on India cut-to-shape and mounted on brown card with bordered frames, in the first colors issued (lilac, 1c,2c &5c in U.P.U. colors), includes the unissued 50c lilac and 1p & 2p carmine values, Very Fine, this set is believed to be unique, probably issued for high postal authorities and the premium set of proofs of the issue, ex Jay Bard.

Mexico, 1886, 1c-25c Numeral Issue Complete, "Colleccion" Overprint, without gum, strong colors, three issued with small flaws, otherwise Very Fine, a rare complete set, the purpose for this overprint has not been ascertained however they where probably prepared for archival purposes.

Mexico, 1890, 5c Blue, tied by Mexico cds on 1889 cover addressed to Gen. M.G. Vallejo at Lachryma Montis in Sonoma, Cal., "Via El Paso" routing endorsement with partial transit backstamp; small tear in adhesive, otherwise Very Fine, ex Schimmer.
Scott No. 178a    Estimate $200 - 300.

Lachryma Montis (Tears of the Mountain) was General Vallejo's country real in Sonoma. A mountain spring provided water for the house all year round.

Mexico, 1886, 6c Lilac, in combination with 1885, 25c Hidalgo on 1887 official registered front, tied by Misantla oval handstamps, matching certification boxed date stamp and official eagle cachet handstamp; some rebacked edge faults affecting 25c, F.-V.F., one of the few non-philatelic usages of the 6c lilac.

Mexico, 1886, 6c Lilac, in combination with 1886, 1c yellow green, pair and three singles + 2c carmine + 3c two singles + 1890, 4c vermilion + 6c vermilion (one 1c on reverse) on oversized registered cover to Boston, Mass., all tied by 1889 Mexico cds's; usual flaws, F.-V.F., an impressive franking.

Mexico, 1886, 6c Lilac, Seven Singles, in combination with 1886, 4¢ lilac, two singles (one of each denomination on reverse) on 1887 registered cover to Munich, Germany, all tied by purple Nuevo Laredo oval date stamps, N.Y. registry etiquette and Laredo, Texas transit date stamp on reverse; some minor flaws, F.-V.F., this is the largest combination of 6c lilac issues on cover record.

Mexico, 1891-92, 1c-25c Numeral Issue, "Specimen" Overprint, set of 10 values in assorted issued colors, with higher values in orange, the 12c lilac with corner repair but is very scarce, 5 issues with natural s.e.'s, F.-V.F.
