Confederacy, "John Reagan, Postmaster General", signature on small 2" x 4" piece cut from letter signed as Postmaster General of the CSA (1861-65), mounted on exhibit page accompanied by picture, Very Fine, ex-Bleuler.

John Hennigan Reagan (1818-1905) came to Texas in 1839 where he served in the Army of the Republic. He was appointed Postmaster General by Jefferson Davis in 1861. After the war, he was active in politics and served in both the House and Senate of the United States.
