(Cancels) 3¢ Issues, Types II, study of 10 singles on cover canceled by the 1851 New York integral three-bar cds with usages from December 1851 to March of 1852; includes six #10A usages and four #11A usages including December 11, 1851 usage of 3¢ experimental orange brown (position 98L1L, signed Amonette) and the earliest known usage of this postmark, also includes a #10A usage tied by the scarce New York integral two-bar cds used in 1851; Very Fine overall.

(Cancels) 3¢ Deep Orange Brown, Type II, margins to cutting, tied by "New York Aug 22" cds with single 5½mm thick slug on blue folded letter to Towanda, Pa.; file fold affects 3¢, Fine and scarce.
Scott No. 10A    Estimate $200 - 300.

The use of the "single bar" cancellation is known only in the latter half of August 1851 for a period of sixteen days from Aug. 12 to Aug. 27. It was one of several different bar style integral cancellers used during this period in New York City.
