Panama, 1888, Registration, 10c black on gray, red "2729" handstamp with additional strike on cover front, used with Panama 1887 10c black on yellow, two singles, tied by blue "Colon, 10 Sep 1888" duplex to Caracas, Venezuela; top edge with small repairs, Very Fine appearance.

THIS IS THE EARLIEST PANAMA F1 COVER FROM COLON.

The supply of Panama F1 sent to Colon was enough to last for five years, three years more than Panama. As a result, F1 is found on cover with stamps of both the 1887-1888 and 1892 Issues.

Panama, 1888, Registration, 10c black on gray, blue "388" handstamp, used with Panama 5c blue (17) with provisional "A.R., Colon, Colombia" three-line handstamp and 10c orange (18) pair, tied by two strikes of purple "Colon, 28 Feb 1893" cds on clean cover to Fresno, Cal., New York (3.10) and Fresno (3.18) backstamps, Very Fine and attractive.
