(Mariposa) Wells Fargo & Co., Bear Valley, rare purple oval handstamp (Leutzinger type 3-2) on cover to San Francisco, Cal., similar red Sacramento handstamp (Leutzinger type 3-1) was most likely used to frank the envelope, manuscript "15" in pencil, Very Fine, a scarce usage of these handstamps and the only example of Bear Valley we have seen in purple, ex-Tatham.
