1857 (May 12) New Orleans La. to Havana, Cuba, cover bearing 1¢ blue, type IV (9 var.) position. 58R1L with plate crack, 3¢ dull red, type I (25) pair and single, all tied by two strikes of "New Orleans La. May 12" cds, Havana 1857 arrival backstamp with matching blue "NA" and "1" rating handstamps; 1¢ with small tear from edge tear, 1¢ with some manuscript in Franklin's hair, F.-V.F., Prepaid at the 10¢ direct American packet rate., ex-Haas; Chase notes on reverse.

1851 (Sep. 29) Old Harbour, Jamaica to Canandaigua N.Y., folded letter with "Old-Habour, Jamaica, SP 29 " rimless datestamp and "Kingston, Jamaica, OC 1, 1851" cds on flap, "Jamaica / Ship Letter" two-line handstamp and blue manuscript "Paid 1/4" 1s4d rating, endorsed "Packet" at lower left, clear strikes of "Steamship 10" circular due handstamp, manuscript "Adv 11" final due rating for 10¢ plus 1¢ advertising fee; edgewear, Fine and scarce use.
