1868 (Mar 3, 14) New York to Fuerth, Bavaria, three light buff Mess. Seligman Bendit & Sohne cover with preprinted address, first two bearing 15¢ black (77) single and other with pair, prepaying the single and double 15¢ NGU treaty rate respectively, both carried by Cunard steamers to Liverpool (City of Antwerp, City of New York), both with red Verviers-to-Cologne traveling post office datestamps. Some edge faults and minor wrinkling, third use dated 1866 (Jun.) bearing 1¢ blue (63), 3¢ rose (65, faulty) and 24¢ lilac (70a) paying 28¢ PCM rate, blue Aachen Franco transit, a Fine trio.

Transit, Jan 28" exchange backstamp and "24" cent credit handstamp, carried by Hapag Line Germonia from New York Jan. 28th to Southampton arriving Feb. 8th, red London (2.9) transit cds and red crayon "1" pence colonial credit rating, then by P&O Nyanza from Southampton Feb. 20th to Alexandria arriving Mar. 4th, then P&O Simla from Suez Mar. 7th to Galle arriving Mar. 22nd, then P&O China from Galle Mar. 24th to Singapore arriving Mar. 31st, Singapore arrival backstamp, Very Fine appearance, ex-LeBow.

THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED 1¢ F. GRILL WRAPPER TO FRANCE.

Since the earliest recorded use of the 1¢ F. grill is late October 1868, this wrapper was probably a late 1868 or early 1869 usage.

Croshaw & Co. London Freight Circular" registered for transmission abroad to Peru with 1d red strip of three, and four 1887 Liverpool to Peru circulars.
