1860 (Aug. 13) Lancaster, Pa. to Ostheim, Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, folded cover without side flaps bearing 1¢ blue (24) and 10¢ green (35) pair, each cancelled by circular grid cancel, matching sharp "Lancaster Pa., Aug 13, 1860" cds and "Paid" handstamp with red ms. "21" rating, red "Philadelphia Pa., Paid, Aug. 14" exchange cds, carried by Cunard Line Asia from New York Aug. 15th to Queenstown arriving Aug. 25th, Calais (8.27) entry cds and matching "P.D." framed handstamp, backstamps include Ostheim (8.30) arrival cds; couple small stamp flaws, Very Fine.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

The sender endorsed this cover for HAPAG "Saxonia" that was also departing New York Aug. 15th, but in case it was too late, it was prepaid an extra 6¢ for French mail.
