(Switzerland) 1860 (Dec. 20) Detroit, Mich. to Cugy, Canton Fribourg, Switzerland, buff cover bearing three 10¢ green (35) singles and 12¢ black (36), tied by grids, matching "Detroit, Mich. Dec 20, 1860" cds, red "New York, Am. Pkt. Dec 24" exchange backstamp and magenta "36/2" double-weight 36¢ credit, carried by NGL Line New York from New York Dec. 22nd to Bremerhaven arriving Jan. 11th, blue "America/über Bremen/Franco" three-line transit, various transit backstamps of Frankfurt (1.13), Bern (1.13) and Basel (1.14), red crayon credits, reverse of cover also with Swiss Consulate at Detroit consular seal, Very Fine, ex-"J & J" Collection; with 2006 P.F. certificate.
Estimate    $1,000 - 1,500.

The 42c postage was intended to pay the double the 21¢ French Mail rate; however, this was sent via Bremen-Hamburg Mail, where the double-rate would have been only 38c with a 4¢ overpayment.

'Paid 21' Oct 26" credit exchange cds, carried by Hapag Line Borussia from New York Oct. 26th to Hamburg arriving Nov. 12th, blue Hamburg (11.13) transit backstamp, "Fr. Grenzo" straightline, reverse with Basel transits and Aarau (11.15) arrival cds, red crayon "30" due rating; small faults and no back flap, F.-V.F. and attractive NYFM use.

(Switzerland) 1868 (Feb. 11) Phillipsburg, N.Y. to Thun, Switzerland, peace dove address envelope bearing 10¢ green (68) horizontal pair, tied by cork cancels, matching "Phillisburgh N.J., Feb 11" cds, New York red "5" in circle credit handstamp, carried by Cunard Line Siberia from New York Feb. 12th to Queenstown arriving Feb. 22nd, blue "Verviers, Coeln, Franco" (2.23) transit and matching blue "Wfco 2" credit restatement handstamp, Thun (2.25) arrival backstamp and red crayon "6" rating; some gum staining and right stamp light creases, F.-V.F. and attractive use at the rare 20¢ Closed Mail NGU rate; with 2012 P.F. certificate.

The 20¢ NGU Closed Mail rate through England was effective for only three months from January 1st to March 30, 1868.

Feb 22" cds, carried by Hapag Line Cimbria from New York Feb. 25th to Hamburg arriving Mar. 8th, red "Hamburg, Franco" (3.8) framed transit and blue crayon "2" sgr credit restatement, reverse with Basel (3.10), Chur (3.11) transits, Ilanz (3.12) arrival cds, a Very Fine use, ex-Dr. Rorke, Faust.
