Hawaii, "Dead Letter Office, Honolulu, H.I. Apr 30, 1890" (33mm, 1RRRR) purple cds backstamp and matching "Pas Reclamé. / Unclaimed." (MH #767) two-line handstamp, on cover from Germany to Honolulu bearing Germany 5pf green, two pairs, each tied by "Alt-Kischau, 7/1 90" cds, "Honolulu, Advertised, Feb 28" (37mm, no date, black 1R) cds backstamp, various backstamps and transits, "Retour" framed handstamp; edge wear, Very Fine and exceptional inbound Dead Letter Office use.

Hawaii, Four Ring Segmented Target, near complete strike (Gregory unlisted) on well centered 1883, 12¢ red lilac (46), an Extremely Fine strike, a very rare unlisted fancy cancellation.

Hawaii, Late Letter Mail, Dec 22, 1886 (34mm, 1RRRR) bold black strike on two 5¢ ultramarine (39) singles from the same cover, Very Fine pair showing a complete strike, This is the latest recorded use of this rare cds.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

This cds is known struck in black and purple from June 15, 1885 to September 1, 1886 by Gregory. The example here extends the period of use four years.

Hawaii, Midway Island "Honolulu, Hawaii, M", double-oval cancel ties 30¢ airmail (C24) on airmail cover to West Los Angeles, Cal., return address of "Edward R Wilson, c/o Navy Contractors, Midway Island", Honolulu (5.18) transit machine backstamp, F.-V.F. use of this rare oval postmark.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

This rare Midway Island "Honolulu, Hawaii, M" type 2.4 handstamp is known used from May 10, 1941 to August 27, 1941 for parcel post, third-class mail and some airmail covers.

Fred Gregory's example illustration of this cancel is a partial strike, the example offered here is remarkable.
