Mexico, (Merida) Merida, boxed certification date stamp on 1884 official cover to San Cristobal, with a quite remarkable array of transit markings front and reverse including Veracruz, Tehuantepec, Santa Ifigenia, Oaxaca, Tuxtla, Chiapa, El Zapote, Tecololoutla and Macuilapa De Officio, so it did not pay postage; some edge wear and opened at sides for display, F.-V.F., at this time the registered mail was meant to exist only in fronts, but this one is intact.
