Great Britain, 1863 York, England to Fort Erie, Canada West. Small cover franked with 1856-58 1d red (horiz. strip of 6) + 1856 6d tied "930" barred oval cancels with York cds at lower left, endorsed manuscript "Registered at Nawton" underneath the stamps, backstamped Fort Erie arrival postmark, some minor toning/aging, Very Fine.
Scott No. 21+27    Estimate $150 - 200.

A lovely cover paying the 1sh rate to Canada per British Packet - Cunard Line Steamer "Persia", departing Liverpool 15 Aug, arriving New York 26 Aug. Doubt this was ever registered per the British Postal Service or that a fee was collected in that regard.

Great Britain, 1868 Calcutta, England to Bordeaux, France. Folded letter with manuscript "Via Bombay & Marseille" routing in the upper left corner, blue circular "Forwarded By Gillanders Arbuthnot & Co. Calcutta", blue diamond "GB 1F66c" accountancy handstamp, partial red 24 Avril 68 French entry cds, and "10" decimes due in the middle, blue Calcutta cds and 3 French cds's on the reverse, Very Fine.

Great Britain, 1868 Glasgow, Scotland to Jacmel, Haiti. Folded cover franked with 1864 1d red tied by barred numeral "159" handstamp with red "Glasgow Paid" cds alongside & red manuscript "2/-" rate, Very Fine, a very rare destination.
Scott No. 33    Estimate $150 - 200.

One penny red paid the late fee, with the remaining 2 shillings paid in cash at the rate of one shillings per half ounce for up to one ounce.

Lot of four covers with various franking & destinations, included is 1868 cover to Canada franked with 6d, 2nd is 1869 cover to Paris franked with 4d tied by "London Too Late" duplex cancel, 3rd is 1869 cover to United States franked with 6d tied by Edinburgh Sun Burst numeral duplex cancel & last is 1869 cover to United States franked with 6d with "Unclaimed" & "Not Called For" handstamps, Very Fine.

Folded cover franked with 1867-80 3d tied by bold London 103 postmark insufficiently paying the correct 6 pence per quarter ounce letter rate, handstamped two line "Insufficiently Stamped" & "12" decimes due handstamp, Italy 60c Postage Due (vertical pair) tied "Palermo" cds, Very Fine.

Great Britain, 1873 Bedford, England to St. Johns, Canada. Mourning cover franked with 1d red + 2d blue tied by "Bedford Ap 19 73" duplex cancel with oval "Insufficiently Prepaid" handstamp, blue manuscript crayon" 2 ½" rate & black manuscript "8" adjacent which represents 8c due in Canada, Very Fine.
Scott No. 30+33    Estimate $150 - 200.

The correct rate was 4 pence (6-1-70 to 1-10-75), this being underpaid by a pence with an additional 3 pence added as a penalty (1-70 to 7-75) to arrive at 4d due or 8 cents. Per Cunard Line steamer Scotia, departing Liverpool 19 Apr, Queenstown 20 Apr, Arriving New York 30 Apr. Very attractive cover!!!

Great Britain, 1873 London, England to Uddewalla, Sweden. Folded cover franked with 1d red + 2d blue + 3d rose tied by London duplex cancels with bold red oval "PD" handstamp & "2 ½d" credit to Denmark adjacent, Very attractive 3 color franking paying an unusual rate.
Scott No. 30+33+49    Estimate $100 - 150.

This franking paid the correct 5 pence per half ounce letter rate from 1-Oct-1871 through 30-Jun-1875, plus 1 pence late fee for mail at the Chief District and Branch Offices between 6.00 and 7.15pm.

Lot of three covers all with various different frankings with the 6d value, included is 1874 folded cover to Italy franked with 1d red + 1872-73 6d gray horiz. pair (#60, cat.£200 per stamp off cover) paying the one pence late mail fee, and 6 pence per half ounce letter rate via Belgium for up to an ounce., 2nd cover is 1873-80 6d horiz. pair (unnoticeable abrasion at bottom) on folded cover to Argentina with handstamped "Pr Pacc Stm. Navn. Co's/Str. Via Liverpool", third cover to Canada franked with 1d red pair + 1873-80 6d single, Very Fine.
