Hamburg, 1841-1910 Hamburg Incoming Cover Collection. 34 covers or cards mounted on display pages; nice range of usages including 1841 folded letter from Guadalajara, turn-of-the-century postal card usages from G.B., Mexico, Ceylon, Spain, Costa Rica, Peru, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, etc., other usages including 1899 uprated wrapper from Brazil and a 1904 parcel receipt to Parral, Mexico.

Hanover, 1827-64 Hanover Exhibition Collection. Over 130 stamps and 58 covers mounted on display pages; beginning with a selection of 25 stampless covers including various Hannover towns and other choice straight line & boxed postmarks, collection focus on the 1850-55 Coat of Arms issues with four different proofs of the 1/10th & 1g issue, issues (virtually all 4-margin) with some mint and used with shades and various town postmarks, on cover mostly 1g issues with many gem covers, 1853-55 3pf Crown and Numeral issues including mint and used pairs, later issues with some mint and some choice used towns; an exceptional collection of these issues, Very Fine and choice.

Hanover, 1859-1925 Hanover Exhibition Collection. Well over 200 stamps and 60 covers or cards mounted on annotated pages; with focus on the 1859-64 King George V issues, 1gr issues including mint blocks and many dozens of used with the array of shades and town postmarks including some nice on cover examples, 2g issues in similar fashion including mint roulette strip of 3 (Mi. 24y cat €750), selection of 3g-10g values including some mint, covers with highlights including 1859 ½g black pair used on turned 1859 1g entire from Bremervorde and a 1866 folded letter from Celle to Seden, France franked with 1864 ½g black + 1g rose + 3g brown (signed Bühler), also a 1853 3pf rose corner margin singles (large margins) tied by blue Lingen postmark on wrapper, also includes postal entires mostly used,continued usage of Hannover cancels used during Prussian and German Empire Administrations, more town postmarks, incoming covers and some forgery reference; a lovely assembly of material with condition well above the norm, Very Fine.

Helgoland, 1867-79 Heligoland Exhibition Collection. Well over 50 stamps mint and used mounted on display pages; with mint 1867 roulettes mint and used cancel types, 1869 & 1873 fractional issues highlighted by a ¼sch tied on small piece, 1875 to 1879 with issues represented mint and additional used with a nice selection of types, some reprint and stationery reference, overall Very Fine.

Lübeck, 1859-65 Lübeck Exhibition Collection. 60 stamps mint and used and 9 covers or entire mounted on display pages; 1859-62 First issues complete with selections of mint and used for almost each value including a rare used 1s orange, all with full margins, 1863 issues with complete mint and used with postmark variety and cover, similar 1864-65 issues including shades, the scarce 1872 official reprints, N.G.C. administration and incoming mails, etc.; exceptional condition throughout, Very Fine and choice.

Mecklenburg - Schwerin & Strelitz, 1856-64 Mecklenburg - Schwerin & Strelitz Exhibition Collection. Over 50 stamps and 40 covers or entires mounted on annotated pages; Schwerin complete mint issues missing only the scarce 4 ¼s roulette, some shades, selection of used with July 1864, 6 ¼s on piece and following Sept. 1864 ¼s issue postmark study, issues on cover include a 1856, 6 ¼s tied by Rostock straight line to Roggaw, July 1864, a 2 ¼s uprating 1866 1½s entire and some stampless, mint and used postal stationery entires with usages to the 5s high values and a mint 1860, 1½s Schillinge overprint error, Strelitz with issues, stampless, complete mint entires (two sizes), overall Very Fine.

Lot 1342    

North German Confederation, 1868, ¼gr red lilac + 2gr ultramarine pair + 5gr bister pair. ¼gr scissor separated at top and bottom, all tied by neat "Leipzig, 20 Mai, 68" cds's on cover to Mexico City, via England with red London transit cds and red crayon manuscript "½" credit, "4" reales due handstamp for inland rate; couple small scuffs one affecting one 5gr at edge, still Very Fine, a lovely and early 3-color franking usage to Mexico.
